Through a competitive grant process, the Torrance Public Library (TPL) was chosen as one of 21 libraries in California to receive grant funds for "transforming life after 50.” Community needs assessment surveys and focus groups were conducted where Boomers stressed that convenience and flexibility are prime decision factors for how they spend their time. The LINK program links participants with access to the wealth of educational, informational, cultural, and recreational opportunities in the South Bay. In designing the logo, we sought to include elements that described the program, appealed to the participating group, and communicated the program offerings, which includes groups, technology, and more traditional offerings.
